🌱 Is Neigong safe for beginners?
Yes — when taught correctly and progressed in the right order, Neigong is safe for the vast majority of people. The problems people sometimes encounter with internal practices almost always come from attempting advanced methods without the proper foundation, or from pushing too hard too quickly.
This is exactly why the Vitality Restoring Course exists as the entry point. Before introducing deeper Neigong methods, the body needs to be restored to a basic level of health and balance — proper breathing, circulation, nervous system regulation, and energy stability. When these foundations are in place first, the deeper practices unfold safely and naturally. Rushing this process is the single most common mistake in internal training.
⚡ What does Qi actually feel like — how will I know if it’s developing?
This is one of the most common questions and an important one. The honest answer is that the early sensations of Qi development are often subtle and easy to dismiss — warmth in the hands or abdomen, gentle tingling, a sense of fullness or pressure in the Dantian area, heaviness in the limbs during practice, or a deep sense of calm and groundedness after a session.
As practice deepens over months, these sensations become more distinct and consistent. Eventually the movement of Qi through the channels becomes something that is felt clearly and reliably rather than guessed at. The key is not to chase sensation — Qi develops as a result of correct practice done consistently, not through effort or expectation. If you are practicing correctly and consistently, it is developing whether you can feel it clearly yet or not.
🧘 Can I do Neigong if I already practice Yoga, Tai Chi, or meditation?
Yes — and in most cases your existing practice will benefit significantly. Neigong develops the internal foundations that make all other internal and meditative practices work more effectively. Students with a background in Yoga, Tai Chi, or meditation typically find that their existing practice deepens noticeably once Dantian cultivation and proper Qi development are established.
One note of caution — if you practice energy-based healing work, you should proceed carefully with deeper Neigong training and let me know your background. Overloading the system by generating more energy than the body can comfortably process can cause imbalance. This is manageable with proper guidance but worth being aware of from the start.
💤 Can Neigong help with sleep, anxiety, or stress?
Yes — this is one of the most consistently reported benefits among students, often noticeable within the first few weeks of regular practice.
Neigong works directly on the nervous system. The seated stillness practice in particular shifts the body out of sympathetic dominance — the chronic fight-or-flight state that underlies most modern anxiety, poor sleep, and stress-related health problems. As practice deepens, the nervous system becomes more regulated, the breath naturally lengthens and deepens, and the body’s ability to return to a state of rest and recovery improves significantly. Many students report that sleep quality improves noticeably within the first month, and that anxiety levels reduce gradually but consistently over the first few months of training.
🤝 How is this different from Neigong or Qigong content available for free on YouTube?
This is a fair question and worth answering directly.
Most free Neigong and Qigong content online teaches forms and movements — the external shapes of practice — without the internal principles that make those practices actually work. Watching someone perform Neigong and understanding what is happening internally are two very different things. Without correct internal instruction, most people practice the outer form for years while missing the substance entirely.
What is taught here comes from authentic lineage transmission — methods passed directly from teacher to student through personal practice and correction over years, not assembled from books or videos. The specific methods for Dantian cultivation, Qi development, and internal channel work are not things that circulate freely online because they were never intended to.
Additionally, the ongoing guidance, personal feedback, Discord support, and quarterly in-person treatment events create a structured progression that no YouTube channel can replicate. Internal development requires correction and accountability — not just content.
🌍 Do I need to speak Chinese or have any cultural background?
Not at all. Everything is taught in English and no cultural, philosophical, or religious background is required or assumed. The methods themselves are practical — they work through the body’s actual internal mechanisms regardless of your background, beliefs, or prior experience.
While the practices come from Chinese Daoist and Buddhist traditions, you do not need to adopt any belief system to benefit from them. Many students come from completely secular backgrounds, other faith traditions, or simply an interest in health and internal development with no prior connection to Chinese culture. All are equally welcome.
📱 How is the course delivered — what do I actually receive?
The Vitality Restoring Course delivers one in-depth video lesson per month for six months, accessible immediately after each payment. Each lesson introduces the next stage of practice with clear instruction and guided practice sessions. You receive access to the first lesson within 24 hours of signing up.
Alongside the monthly lessons, you gain access to the private Discord community where you can ask questions directly, share progress reports, and receive ongoing feedback and guidance.
The Core Neigong Course begins with a live two-day Zoom seminar, after which ongoing training and all future levels are delivered through the Discord community and regular live sessions included in the monthly membership.
🔄 What if I miss a week or can’t practice every day?
Consistency matters more than perfection. Missing occasional days or even a week here and there will not derail your progress — internal development builds gradually over months and years, not days. What matters is returning to practice and maintaining the overall rhythm rather than achieving a perfect record.
That said, daily practice — even 20 to 40 minutes — produces far better results than longer sessions done infrequently. The body builds internal capacity through regular repetition, and gaps of more than a week or two can slow the process noticeably. If life becomes difficult for a period, shorter daily sessions are always better than stopping entirely and attempting to compensate with occasional longer ones.
☯️ Is this religious — do I need to follow Daoist beliefs?
No. The practices come from Daoist and Buddhist lineage traditions, but they are not religious in the way most people understand that word. There is no requirement to adopt any beliefs, follow any doctrines, or participate in any religious observance.
The methods work through the body’s actual physiology and energetic mechanisms — breath, structure, circulation, nervous system regulation, and internal pressure. These are practical realities that function independently of belief. Students of all backgrounds — including those with strong religious beliefs of their own, and those with none at all — practice these methods effectively. What you believe about them is entirely your own business.
🏥 I have a chronic illness or injury — can I still practice?
In most cases yes — and for many people with chronic health conditions, this training is particularly well suited to their needs.
The Vitality Restoring Course is specifically designed to rebuild health from the foundations upward — it is not a demanding physical practice and does not require strength, flexibility, or a high baseline of fitness. That being said, the recommended accompanying stretches and exercises can be difficult initially and should be added only if you are able. If you are not able, just doing the energetic practices is a good start to building back health.
As a Doctor of Chinese Medicine with almost a decade of clinical experience, I am able to assess individual health situations and adapt guidance accordingly. If you have a specific condition you are concerned about, please reach out before signing up and I will give you an honest assessment of whether and how the training can work for your situation.

🤒Am I too old to start, I am over 50?
Not at all — and this deserves a direct answer because many people over 50 assume internal training is for younger practitioners. It is not. In fact, many of my older students progress faster than younger ones because they tend to be more patient, more grounded, and less caught up in trying to force results.
Neigong does not initially require immense physical strength, flexibility, or athletic ability. The practices work with the body as it is and improve it gradually from within. Students in their 60s and 70s make genuine and consistent progress. The main requirement at any age is consistency — not physical capacity.
If you have specific health concerns, feel free to reach out before signing up and I will give you an honest assessment of what to expect.
If your general health is good, you can make excellent progress at any age.
🗿What is the difference between neidan and neigong.
This depends on who you ask and which tradition they come from. In academic and historical contexts they are often treated as separate systems. In my view and experience, the distinction is not as clear as it is sometimes presented.
Neigong refers to the internal practices — the methods of building, storing, refining, and circulating Qi through the body. Neidan, often translated as Internal Alchemy, is the broader process of internal transformation that Neigong feeds into. In this sense, Neigong is the foundation and Neidan is the deeper process that becomes possible once that foundation is properly established.
Everything taught here sits within this continuum. The early levels focus on health restoration and genuine Qi cultivation — what most would call Neigong. As practice deepens over years, it naturally begins to move into the territory of Neidan. These are not two separate paths — they are stages of the same one.
Everything I teach can be considered authentic Neidan cultivation.
🏝️Can I combine this with other practices?
Yes — and for most students their existing practice improves noticeably once genuine Dantian cultivation and internal development are established. Students with backgrounds in Yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, or other movement practices consistently find that the internal foundations developed here deepen and enhance what they were already doing.
A few points worth noting:
🔸 If you practice energy healing or work with other people’s Qi — proceed with care as your own internal development deepens. Generating more energy than the body can comfortably process without adequate rest can create imbalance. This is manageable with proper guidance but worth discussing before you begin.
🔸 If you practice martial arts — Neigong will directly enhance your internal power, structure, and sensitivity. Many martial arts students find this training fills a gap that purely external training never could.
🔸 If you are already doing Qigong — Neigong provides the deeper internal foundation that makes Qigong practices work more effectively. The two complement each other naturally.
If you have a specific practice you are concerned about combining, feel free to ask before signing up and I will give you an honest answer.
🐠Which lineage or school do you teach from?
Over nine years in China, I trained under multiple high-level masters from different lineages. I don’t teach a single school’s system — instead, I share the most effective variations of the classical methods used across lineages to cultivate genuine internal skill. The principles are universal; only the outer forms differ slightly.
My core training is from two lineages in which I hold indoor student status — Gengmen Pai (a Shaolin and Buddhist internal tradition under Master Jiang Feng) and Yuanmen Pai (a Daoist and Buddhist internal tradition under Master Zhou Gan Sheng), under whom I trained and interned for almost a decade. Indoor student status means transmission was given directly and personally — not through public classes or general instruction.
🌋How long does it take to develop the Dantian deeply?
There’s no fixed timeline and anyone who tells you otherwise is not being honest with you. In truth, it takes at least 10 years of sincere, consistent practice to reach an advanced level of internal refinement — and often much longer. Progress is determined by your health, the quality of your training, and how well the body’s underlying blockages and imbalances have been addressed — not simply by time spent practicing.
This is one reason the quarterly in-person treatment events exist. Students who address the health obstacles limiting their development directly — through clinical acupuncture, Tuina, and Neigong adjustments — consistently progress faster than those relying on solo practice alone. The body needs to be in a condition to receive what the practice is trying to develop.
Progress is always determined by your health, balance, and quality of training, not just time.

During the first 2 and a half years our Qigong and Yijinjing is taught along with the core neigong practices for Dantian activation, Dantian development and qi development.
Each levels adds to the previous and should be done in sequence and for the required amount of time. Proper internal development cannot be rushed.
🌡️How long should I practice each day?
I generally recommend no more than one hour of focused Neigong daily once you have been training for a few years. More is not better in internal training — the body needs time to integrate and consolidate what practice is building. It is far better to practice consistently and correctly than excessively.
Personally, I do about 20–40 minutes of active Neigong followed by 20–40 minutes of stillness practice each day — that rhythm works extremely well and has done so for years. In the early stages of training, shorter sessions of 20–30 minutes done daily will produce better results than longer sessions done sporadically. Build the habit first, then the duration.
👩⚕️My health isn’t great — is it still worth starting?
Absolutely — and in many ways this training is most valuable for people whose health is not great. Restoring health is not a side benefit of this practice; it is the primary foundation everything else is built upon.
The Vitality Restoring Course exists specifically for this reason. Before deeper Neigong methods are introduced, the body needs to be brought back to a basic level of health and balance — proper breathing, circulation, nervous system regulation, and stable energy. These are the foundations that allow internal cultivation to actually work.
As a Doctor of Chinese Medicine with over a decade of experience, I can also support your health directly through acupuncture, Tuina, and herbal medicine — either in Peterborough or at the quarterly in-person events. For many students, this clinical support is what finally allows their health — and their practice — to move forward.
⚕️What’s the purpose of the Discord group? Do I need to join it?
The Discord group is not optional — it is a central part of how this training works. It is where you share practice reports, ask questions, and receive ongoing personal guidance. I monitor everyone’s development through their reports and responses, which allows me to ensure each person is progressing safely and correctly before moving to the next level.
All further levels are unlocked based on time spent practicing and active participation in Discord — not simply payment. This ensures that no one moves forward before their body is genuinely ready, which protects both your progress and your health.
Inside the Discord you will also find additional lessons, regular live guidance sessions, health and lifestyle advice, Qigong and Yijinjing instruction, and a community of practitioners at various stages of the same path. For most students it becomes an important source of both accountability and support.
⚗️Where do in-person meetings take place?
Quarterly in-person events for students are held every three months across the UK, Europe, and Asia. Plans are in progress to include the United States in future schedules, though these are not yet confirmed.
UK events are held at the Authentic Acupuncture, Tuina & Herbs clinic at Orton Enterprise Centre, Unit 17, Bakewell Road, Peterborough, PE2 6XU — making them accessible to students based in the UK without the need for international travel.
These events are focused primarily on clinical support — acupuncture, Tuina, and Neigong-specific adjustments to address the health issues and energetic blockages that limit progress — alongside direct practice review and correction.
Is Faqi (Qi emission) real?
Faqi refers to the projection or transmission of Qi from one person to another — it’s a real phenomenon within Neigong and Chinese medicine, but also one of the most misunderstood and, frankly, most faked aspects online. The vast majority of videos online show people either faking it, pretending they can do solo something they can’t, or using some kind of machine.
It’s real, but rare these days. I demonstrate it when my teachers ask me to during seminars, but I don’t use it in my own clinic — it isn’t needed. Gentle Faqi achieves the same therapeutic result and is infinitely less draining. So if you specifically want the strong, “electric” style of Faqi, I can teach you how to develop it — though I rarely use it myself.
How much does the training cost?
The Vitality Restoring Neigong & Qigong Course (6 months) is six monthly payments. The Core Neigong Course begins with a live seminar fee, followed by a monthly subscription, which includes all future levels and access to the private Discord community. Exact prices are on the Home Page

⚡💪The Path of Internal Development and Power💪⚡
🔥Level 0 – Preparing the body
Level 0 or also known as The Vitality Restoring Course rebuilds the foundation your body needs before beginning true Neigong. Most people try to jump straight into internal cultivation while carrying years of tension, shallow breathing habits, poor circulation, emotional stress, or depleted energy reserves.
When the body is weak or dysregulated, Neigong cannot take root — the practices may feel confusing, exhausting, or produce little progress. This course restores the essential functions first: deeper breathing, improved circulation, balanced organs, calmer nervous system, and more stable energy. It gives your body the strength and clarity needed for internal work to actually work.
Once this foundation is rebuilt, the body becomes receptive. You can feel energy more clearly, sink the breath more naturally, and enter stillness without struggle. Instead of fighting fatigue, anxiety, or blockages, you begin the core Neigong training with a body that is open, responsive, and nourished.
The Vitality Restoring Course removes the obstacles that cause people to plateau or delude themselves into thinking they’re progressing. By the time you move into the main Neigong program, your system is primed for real internal transformation — allowing the deeper methods to unfold safely, smoothly, and powerfully.
🧯Level 1 – Building the Foundation
Level 1 introduces the three essential practices that awaken the Dantian and prepare the body for real internal cultivation. These methods activate the Dantian’s ability to store and condense Qi, ground the body’s energy, and begin opening and filling the primary internal channels. Two of the practices are performed standing and one is seated, creating a balanced system that requires about 40 minutes of focused practice each day. This rhythm develops the strength, structure, and inner stillness needed for the deeper stages that follow.
This first stage forms the bedrock of all higher Neigong. The initial 18 months are dedicated to aligning the body, stabilizing the mind, and establishing a natural, continuous flow of energy. Without this foundation, the advanced methods taught in Level 2 simply cannot unfold correctly. But when the groundwork is genuinely established, the practitioner enters the next stages with a body that is open, resilient, and responsive — able to handle stronger currents of Qi and more refined internal work.
Further levels of training are available only to active members of the private Discord community. Participation in the group is included with the course, and advanced material is unlocked once the required practice time has been completed. This ensures that every student progresses at a steady, safe pace, and that no one moves forward before their body is genuinely ready.
As you move through the higher levels, the Qi cultivated in Level 1 is gradually refined, deepened, and transformed in quality. What begins as basic vitality becomes something quieter, stronger, and more luminous — forming the true foundation of long-term internal development and authentic Daoist cultivation.
🍁Level 2 – Refining and Circulating Qi
In Level 2, the foundational methods of Level 1 are set aside, and a more advanced Neigong practice is introduced. This stage moves the practitioner from simple accumulation into the true refinement of Qi, deepening the body’s ability to store, condense, and transform internal energy. The work becomes more subtle yet more powerful, guiding the Qi beyond the Dantian and into the broader internal network of the body.
Level 2 training develops the ability to circulate Qi through the channels with greater clarity and strength, and to unify internal flow with the movement of the hands. This integration of inner and outer work marks a significant step in authentic Neigong, where physical movement and energetic intention become one continuous process. Daily practice continues at approximately 40 minutes of focused training, maintaining the rhythm established in Level 1.
It is recommended that students remain in Level 2 for two years before progressing to Level 3. This period allows the body, mind, and energetic system to stabilize and adapt to the deeper currents now being cultivated. With time, the internal mechanisms of true Neigong become natural and embodied, forming the stable platform required for the even more profound work ahead.
🌬️Level 3 – Compression and Expansion of Qi
Level 3 marks the beginning of Qi-compression training — a pivotal threshold in authentic Neigong development. At this stage, the practitioner begins working with methods that condense and concentrate Qi within the body, increasing its density, strength, and vitality. This deepens the transformation that began in earlier stages and prepares the system for far more powerful internal processes.
Through precise internal techniques, you learn to compress Qi within the Dantian and throughout the channels, gradually expanding their capacity and strengthening the internal network. As the pressure and density of Qi increase, the energetic gates begin to open more fully, and the body’s internal connectivity becomes stronger and more unified. This phase represents a fundamental shift from cultivating energy to truly forging it.
Students are encouraged to remain at Level 3 for approximately one year before advancing to Level 4. This period allows the body and energy system to fully adapt to the heightened internal pressure and refined movement of Qi. When this stage is completed properly, the practitioner emerges with a stronger, more stable foundation for the even deeper alchemical work that follows.
🪐Level 4 – Expansion and Unification of the Channels
Level 4 focuses on enlarging and refining the body’s primary energy pathways, with particular emphasis on the Microcosmic Orbit (MCO). At this stage, the circulation of Qi becomes smoother, broader, and more continuous, allowing energy to move through the system with a natural and effortless flow. This represents a major milestone in internal development, where the foundational work of earlier levels begins to reveal its deeper effects.
The practice requires patience, precision, and steady consistency. As the channels expand and harmonize, the energetic system becomes more unified, resilient, and responsive. From this stage onward, Levels 2 through 4 function together as the core of your daily training — forming a stable energetic framework that supports all higher levels of Neigong and prepares the body for more advanced alchemical work.
Students are encouraged to remain in this integrated phase for approximately one year before progressing further. This period ensures that the channels are fully opened, the circulation is stable, and the internal system is strong enough to handle the more transformative methods that come next.
🌌Levels 5–8 : The Higher Stages of Internal Refinement
Levels 5 through 9 introduce the advanced methods of true internal transformation. At these stages, the practice shifts from building and circulating Qi to refining its quality, expanding the capacity of the Dantian, and strengthening meridian flow throughout the entire body. The internal system becomes more unified, and the movements of energy grow increasingly subtle, continuous, and powerful.
As the training deepens, these levels guide the practitioner into the early stages of Shen development — where Qi begins to transform into awareness, and the boundary between energy and consciousness becomes more fluid. The core methods required for Fàqì (Qi emission) are also established here, built upon the stability and density cultivated in the earlier levels.
These higher stages represent the culmination of the Neigong process: the merging of structure, energy, and spirit into a single, integrated system of living internal power. This is where the long path of cultivation begins to reveal its true depth, and where the practitioner steps into the doorway of genuine internal mastery.
